Bedford, NH – September 17, 2024 – Sullivan Construction is pleased to announce a significant milestone at the Market and Main retail center with the “Topping Off” ceremony for Building D. Today, the final beam was signed and raised into place, marking the structural completion of the 37,135-square-foot building.

In attendance were representatives from the Town of Bedford, Stack & Co., Summit Engineering, TFMoran, and other key partners. The crowd erupted in applause as workers from SL Chasse Steel lowered and secured the final beam, celebrating this pivotal achievement in the development of the mixed-use retail center.

Sullivan Construction Superintendent Ken Beers addressed the attendees, highlighting the meaningful additions to the 725 lb. beam: an American flag and a fir tree positioned at opposite ends. “The fir tree is part of an ancient Nordic tradition, symbolizing two key elements,” Beers explained. “First and foremost, it signifies an accident-free construction site—something we take very seriously at Sullivan Construction. I’m especially proud that this project recently received a 100% rating during our safety inspection. Additionally, the tree is believed to bring life to the project once completed.”

Owner and developer Encore Enterprises selected Sullivan Construction as the Construction Manager for five buildings within the Market and Main retail center, ranging in size from approximately 5,200 to 37,000 square feet. Designed by Stack & Co., these buildings will feature high-end finishes that seamlessly blend with the existing park landscape.

With Building D now structurally complete, work will shift to the exterior shell, while construction progresses on two additional buildings, further contributing to the vibrant growth of the Bedford community.
